House in the Hills,  Pennyroyal, VIC (06/2014 - )

Alterations and additions to a single storey residential dwelling on a steeply sloping site with existing canopy trees. The design is to be sensitive to the existing dwelling and maximize the views of the valley and forest and will incorporate solar passive design principles.

The external materials include painted mud-brick walls and core-ten steel cladding, painted window frames of solid hardwood ‘Silverstop Ash’.  Deck supports and shade screening are to be constructed from naturally fire-resistant solid timber. The dwellings material palette has been selected to tie in with the existing dwelling and landscape.
