National Park House

The National Park House, Angelsea (08/2008 - Designed)

Architectural design done for a modern contemporary 2 level residential dwelling on a gently sloping site backing onto a National Park within a coastal setting.  The design was to maximize the potential for distant views of the surrounding hinterland and coastline.

Open flowing space with high ceilings, for practical furniture layouts and connecting visually to outdoor entertaining areas.  Access was to be via sliding or frameless glass bi-fold door system.  Eaves to overhang to the north for solar passive design and over door openings to ensure suitable weather protection.  Open fire to be installed for when extra warmth is needed throughout winter. The design intent was to complement its natural surroundings and allow the occupants to observe and blend into the observations.
