Sea Garden House
Sea Garden House, Jan Juc (4/2018-Designed)
Our design for Alterations and Additions to an existing double story residential dwelling. We propose to refurbish and re-work the dwelling, while reducing the overall footprint to allow for more usable rear garden space. The intention was to demolish a section of the building at the NW end, along with the existing pool and all the external ground floor decking which is to be replaced with a newly planted garden, including a small natural pool. The street frontage is to remain largely intact.
The external materials include both new and existing blockwork which is rendered with a light grey cement render. Hardwood timber cladding with clear penetrative sealer is proposed for the Deck, Rumpus and balustrade. The window frames are to constructed from timber, with some shaded by steel Colorbond ‘Monument’ hoods.
The colours chosen are earthy, yet sleek and will be enhancing the connection between the dwelling and the native vegetation of the site and broader coastal environs.
